October fundraisers
Once again we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of people and the hard work they put raising funds for Wheels 4 Life.
At the beginning of the month Adam Davidson hosted an event called “Ride Like A Kid”, using this as a platform as well as reaching out to family and friends on both sides of the continent Adam raised $2000. His mission was to specifically raise funds for children at an orphanage in Botswana so that they can get to school. In addition to Adam’s $2000, we added another $500 donated by our friends and supporters Mark and Jane Hammonds in the UK and gave the children another 25 bikes. This makes a total of 100 bikes for the BROI orphanage this year!
In Germany Manfred Kleinbach raised $659, thanks for your continued support Manfred. IXS in Switzerland raised another $1000 for us in addition to their initial $10.000 fundraiser through the sale of their Wheels 4 Life limited edition baseball caps. The Walworth family in the U.K have also continued to work hard raising money in memory of their son Rory so that we can donated bikes in his memory. They have changed so many lives now, such an amazing legacy. In Laguna Georgio Vittolo raised another $500 with his sponsored bikes ride. In addition to these fundraisers we are so lucky to have many individuals who donate to us, supporting our work and helping us get more and more bikes out there every year.
December will be a busy month for Wheels 4 Life. On Thursday 15th we have our W4L/Crank Brothers Christmas Happy Hour party, so if you are anywhere near Laguna Beach between 5pm and 8pm, head to Broadway and the Crank Brothers HQ and say hi.
Also, we will begin this year’s Dreambikes Auction, check out the Crank Brothers website www.crankbrothers.com for detailed information about every one of these fabulous custom bikes. We will be auctioning off these bicycles one at a time and every dollar made will go to Wheels 4 Life and thus directly into buying bikes for the people that need them the most in developing countries. So if you or a loved one is in the market for a new bike, what better way to buy one than through our Dreambikes auction and know that not only will you get a great bike you will also be changing lives.
As always, our massive thanks to you all…Carmen & Hans
